Over the past few years, the questions "what is a legacy wrap" and "how do I find my legacy wrap", have shown up in newsfeeds, blogs, messages and posts on a weekly basis. Today, I am going to answer both of these questions for you, in hopes that you too can find your legacy wrap and enjoy it for many years to come.
Let's start out by defining what "Legacy" means. Ref. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/legacy
Let's define "heirloom". Ref. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/heirloom
There are so many beautiful wraps out there with a number of different patterns, blends and weaves. Simply choose the one that speaks to you. For us, we have chosen our "Firespiral Slings" Obsidian Cyano Seafoam. This is our first "Firespiral". It is very soft and our daughter loves it.
For those that enjoy surprises might like choosing their legacy by finding a woven that was either released on the date their child was born, conceived "if you know when that was," or by finding a wrap that shares the same name as your wee one.
How do you do this? Easy. Go to http://wovenwrapsdatabase.com/
Follow our instructions in each picture to find out how :)
If you notice that your date is not in the database, please know that they are working on a newer version for the site. This is planned to be up and running this year :)
If you do find your perfect "forever wrap," remember that it may take time to search for it. Be patient and have fun while doing so.
A good place to start would be by using a search engine to enter in the wrap artist, pattern and then colorway if there is one. An example would be (Oscha Caledonia Braes.) This is the green version. There is however, a red version called Ember. If your looking for the red version then you would search for (Oscha Caledonia Ember.)
You may or may not find a retailer that carries the wrap you are looking for. If not, you can try the following:
You can always try Facebook groups too.
Please be sure to read the rules and make your feedback link so that others can know to trust you while you find your legacy wrap. If you find that your legacy wrap is a specific designer you can search through Facebook for "designer specific" groups. Just be sure that they allow B/S/T (buy, sell, trade.) If they do not, you can always ask someone in the group where to find one.
We will be making a list of all these wonderful groups in our next blog. Please check back for more.
